There is a clear connection between our emotions and our money. A link that is held countless times a day for ads and other forms of advertising with which we are bombarded, consciously or unconsciously.
They promise happiness to us through our money, which has cost us a lot to win.
Advertising tries to lean toward spending with the excuse of achieving greater happiness. It is the easiest way for publicists to earn money.
Enjoyment of various products
In the ads we see the handsome, young, sexy and happy actors during the use and enjoyment of various products and we want to feel that way. We associate happiness with that product or service they are announcing.
Good ads manage to leave us dissatisfied and unhappy if we don’t get what they are announcing. This is the big trap that many of us fall into, start feeling sad if we don’t spend money.
How can we avoid this? The real trick to achieve happiness without spending money is to find out how you feel happy but without spending money and performing those tasks or activities when you feel like spending.
Techniques to Achieve Happiness without Spending Money
Remind yourself of your financial goals as often as possible. Mine are short term, saving for a trip to the United States and medium to long term, to invest and that this money invested allows me to live without economic ties. I tell myself that every time I don’t spend money and save it, I’m closer to all those goals.
Always keep your progress in mind, not the distance you still have to travel. See how your savings account grows each month, your account to buy that car you’ve always wanted, etc. It is a visual reminder of what you are doing is positive and that you are closer to your important goals without spending money.
Ask yourself why you want to buy something
It is surprising how many times you will not be able to find a real reason to buy something. The real cause is external impulses (advertisements, third parties, etc.) that force you to buy that.
Exercise Find an exercise method that is appropriate for your level and physical condition. If you feel the need to go shopping, take the opportunity to exercise, the endorphins caused by the exercise will replace the desire to go shopping.
Do fun things that are free. Look for amusements of little expense or better yet free. Write, read, take a walk, etc.
They are free and entertaining things. Find activities that make you feel good and cost nothing to spend your free time
These are some of the most effective tactics I have found to achieve happiness without spending money.
